Thermal Imaging Technology

Glisson Inspection Services Inc. (GIS) incorporates the use of Thermal Imaging along with their General Home Inspection Services. Thermal imaging assists the inspector in determining defects in the home that would generally be missed from a standard visual inspection.

These items may include air leaks around windows, hot spot in the electrical panel box, or wet spots that have been covered up by the seller. This equipment enhances the inspector’s effectiveness during your home inspection and it is included in the price of a General Inspection (starting Jan. 2009).

Thermal Imaging is a non-contact technology that measure infrared wavelengths to determine temperature from a safe distance. A thermal imager displays an image that uses different colors to represent different temperatures. This image makes it quick and easy to check surface temperatures that can assist in identifying problem areas around the home.
